APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRINCIPAL FOR SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC

Mr Tan Hang Cheong to take over as Principal of Singapore Polytechnic.

1. Mr Tan Hang Cheong, Deputy Principal (Academic Planning) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) will be appointed as Principal of Singapore Polytechnic (SP) (Designate) from 1 Sep 2007. He will succeed Mr Low Wong Fook, the current Principal of SP when Mr Low retires at the end of 2007.
2. As Principal of SP, Mr Low is a Director on the Board of Directors of Singapore Polytechnic International (SPI), which promotes the SP model of education overseas. After his retirement, Mr Low Wong Fook will continue to serve as a Director on the Board of Directors of SPI. SPI will be able to continue to tap on Mr Low's vast experience and knowledge in the technical education sector as well as the extensive regional links he established while leading SP.
