It’s the end of the first week of school.Even though I have a rather slack timetable, I felt quite lethargic and nearly all drained out. I guessed I kept myself too busy over commitment, work, and even play. I think I’ll have an even busier week next week. Argh…
I had CS2105 & CS2106 lectures on Tuesday, the 1st day of school. CS2105 lecture was with WaWa. The lecturer is an Indian, whom I hope I can understand when he speaks for the rest of the semester. I guess the 1st lecture was okay, even though he does have a little Indian accent. CS2106 lecture was alright too, though I do not like accessing the CS2106 website with username & password. So troublesome!
I had an hour break in between these 2 lectures, when WaWa accompanied me to COM1 to print my notes. I took longer than usual because I changed my password in the holidays & it was irritating to set up the printer all over again.
Damn!
After that, WaWa had to meet her friend at Arts canteen, and I was supposed to go to Engine canteen to meet a textbook seller. I seldom walked past the area towards the main door of COM1. Guess what? When I walked past, I was like, “EH! JJ!” Haha!!! It was actually a cabinet filled with proud SOCians appearing in news articles. It was this particular Chinese article about the winners of the Youth Award, which 1 of them was a SOCian. It appeared more like the article is featuring JJ though! Haha…
After CS2106 lecture, I went back to Engine canteen once again to have lunch meeting with PC & Margaret. May was there with Pat & Clarissa! Haha… After lunch, the 3 of us walked to the clubroom to take a look at the black board used for last year’s welcome tea. After some discussion, it was decided that Margaret touched up on the black board while I designed the flyer for OutReach. =D
I actually took train from Buona Vista to Jurong East, and changed to the red line until Newton. I wasn’t crazy ok! It was partly that I was too early for work, and I wanted to sleep on the train. Guess what? I ended up working for 2hours only instead of 4hours because there wasn’t enough numbers for me to call afterall. Haha… I was quite glad because I was really tired & wanted to go home.
Wednesday was my free day! And so, we had an early birthday celebration for Da Bai at A.R.K. House. It was supposed to be a surprise, but Mr Koh spoiled it! Hmph! Spoiler! Haha…
I travelled down to A.R.K House together with Siew Yong after her work. I had wanted to go down earlier to buy Da Bai’s present, but a discomfort developed in my right eye, which didn’t allow me to do so afterall. Da Bai was already there when we reached, so Siew Yong & I sneaked up to SMG store to get her present without her noticing we came. We spent some time gossiping before going downstairs to join Da Bai. When we went down, Mr Koh & Yueming were already there. That was when Mr Koh told us he spoiled the fun! Boo!
Anyway, Carol came shortly after that. It had been months since we had sat down like that to talk. It was super hilarious to see Carol & Mr Koh “squabbling” with each other! Haha… We all know that Carol is famous for being lost. So we were laughing & joking super hard on a lame conversation. It was really damn funny! Carol didn’t feel offended even though we were poking fun of her. Don’t we just have so lovely company? Haha… I shall upload the photos we taken that day when I have the time & energy. =D
On Thursday, I had my 1 & only lecture of the day, GEK1047! The lesson was really interesting & fun afterall! Even though I was cursing & swearing at the 1st reading. Haha… I thought I must be regretting taking a business GEM that sounds so much like an Arts GEM instead. Even the lecturer introduced herself as a graduate from NUS Arts faculty studying philosophy & literature! No wonder! I had so much difficulty reading the 1st reading with so many profound words! Luckily, the lecturer said it was a test for those who think this GEM is easy & non-examinable. She promised the future readings would not be that profound. Haha… I think most people in the class came to this GEM more for the interactive nature of this class, which is what I love too. The lecturer is damn cool too! I can say that this class is very different from normal SOC tutorials. I feel that SOC tutorials are so dead, which interactions are usually 1-to-1, with only a few students bothering to answer the tutors.
After GEK1047, it was UP 3D movie with WaWa, Xinyi, and Jiawei! I was the earliest, so I went to have lunch alone & bought the movie tickets for the rest. Just before the movie, WaWa came & we went in & left Xinyi’s & Jiawei’s tickets at the usher’s booth.
The 3D movie was a great experience! I love the storyline! It was sweet & touching, with a dab of humour in some parts of the movie. Thumbs-up for UP! =D
After the movie, I bought a bag at $5 in IP Zone! Haha.. It’s super worth the money! Then, we went to Superdog for their lunch, where Fronia came to join us shortly. Acacia female freshies in full force! It had been super long since the 5 of us got together! Hehe…
I was slightly late for CS2261 lecture on Friday. What a conincidence! When Christine & I went into the LT to find Joanna & Co, there were only 2 seats left between Joanna & another person in the row. That person happened to be Yanzhu! Haha…
Last lecture of the week was CS3361. My 1st level 3 module! Anyway, everyone got a shock when they entered SR1. This previously non-examinable module is actually modified to become a 60% examinable module! It was supposed to be relected in CORS, but somehow, it didn’t. I didn’t really mind, as I was expecting it to be an examinable module when I first wanted to take it. Seeing it appear as a non-examinable module was just a bonus for me. However, it is going to cause a lot of trouble to many of us, as exam dates are reflected before bidding of modules so we can plan our timetable accordingly so our exam dates will not clash.
Aiya, I don’t really care. Service Science is really an interesting module! I think I’ll not regret going into SSME specialization! Even the lecturer is damn cool! He’s a part-time lecturer, but some full-time bigshot in IBM! At first, he looked quite hostile, but it turned out that he is very friendly! =D
Okay! That marks the end of my first week of school! I dread the upcoming week! That is why I’m getting as much rest as possible today! AAHH!
