I've finally took the time to upload photos from my camera, edit them & upload them to facebook. It took me 2 hours! Thanks to facebook slow uploading & constant failure.. =.=

I had a quite eventful day in school today. Every tutorial class ended late.

I was so irritated by some cheena guy in 1 of the tutorial! He kept insisting he was right when the fact was, he didn't understand the question. So he started arguing with the tutor that he was right & the tutor was wrong. The tutor gave the kind of look that he was so paiseh because he didn't know how to get it into the cheena guy's head that he was wrong. My tutor kind of kept quiet. After that, we moved on to the next part of the question. Halfway through, somehow, the cheena guy managed to come back to the point to argue back that he was right previously! I thought it was over can? The best thing is, another cheena guy helped to insist he was right! The rest of the class just kept quiet la! There were 2 instances where 2 indians tried to explain why it was wrong to think that way, but I think they gave up like my tutor as well. I just feel that he wasted our time arguing over some pointless stuff that he got wrong & couldn't accept!

Oh yes.. There was this question that asked us about which option would we choose. The question is phrased in the way, it was a Either-Or question. You know what this same cheena guy did? He answered none! It shows how much he understoond the questions la!

CS2106 lab was... ok.. I didn't have any problems with Fedora or Linux for the time being. But I think I'll have problems coding in C.. So sad.. We were expected to learn C on our own la..

After the lab, I went to print my notes. The SOC printers were so slow! I don't know how some people print or what they do la. Under normal circumstances, the printers will print at a steady speed. However, for some people, the speed of their jobs are like printing colored pages that the printer has to renderize the pages! I nearly fainted waiting at the printers to get my documents.

And I actually left my CS2261 textbook under the table in 1 of my tutorials! I only realized it when I was to go for my CS2261 tutorial. Luckily, nobody took my book away. I seriously think I need start mugging on CS2261 already. I was so lost during the lab! =.=

Anyway, let me introduce SMG to all of you! He's a new companion to IBM & COOL. And he's so cute! It looks like it comes from some olden black-and-white days! =D

In case you don't know. IBM stands for insignificant brown monkey. COOL stands for cling-on "Ooh!" lion. And lastly! Of course! SMG stands for some monkey greyscaled..

The world is round.

I'm waiting for Nicholas to help me with CS2105 tutorial. It's too easy to be true.

If I am a friend to be cared for, why didn't you realize I didn't sound right even though I seemed to sound alright to others?

I guess my fear does settle in in the end, afterall? I wasn't pushy. I wasn't motivated. All I did was, to continue pushing everything back as and when I wish to & don't feel like doing. With some other external related factors adding up, I guess it is even harder to get the same feeling back anymore. Everything seems to be so different to me, so different that I don't like it, but do not have the 动力 to change it back to how it used to be.

On a happier note, Celeste, Ivalyn & I went A.R.K. House to mug yesterday afternoon. I decided very long to make up my mind to meet them. I was lazy to move out of my house & mugging at home seems to save my time travelling. On the contrary, I would probably sleep my whole day away & end up not mugging at all in the end too. Little mugging vs no mugging. I guess a little mugging was better than none at all.

Anyway, I was super excited! I saw so many people whom I don't usually see or don't even expect to see them! As compared to that fact, my fate did not strike on to see that gorilla! The main point is not about seeing those people. It is about not seeing that scary freak. I was praying so hard ok! Hahaha...

Collect my loots yesterday! =D

Or rather my loots + Wawa's loots.. Hahaha... I love my new black & gold wine bottle umbrella! =D It's so cool & I'm sure it's cheaper than those selling in Singapore even after shipping.

I rushed all the way down okay! I only had 1 hour to travel from Newton to the seller's house in Tampines, and it was peak hour! Train, train, bus, bus! I was super lucky! Each time, my train or bus would come just when I reached. If not, I would have never make it in time. Haha...

Oh oh... I think I'll be very busy really soon. We just had our handover meeting on Monday. It took us 2hours or so! So much details to take note & stuff to consider after we took over. I guess we would be having a couple of meetings soon to settle other important stuff. I hope I can cope real well!

Monday was a crazy day for me! Even though I had 5 hours of break, I didn't really have much time to mug. Printing readings + notes alone already took me half of the time. SOC printers just CMI! There were 3 printers - 1 spoiled, 1 sot, 1 functioning but slow. Everyone was just fighting for 1 printer! And there would always be some selfish asses who would just stand right in front of that only available printer waiting for donkey years before their printing would come out, as if the printer only belonged to them. They just blocked others from checking if their printing were out and caused so many printed documents to be stranded on the machine without their owners. I mean, if you can't find it, just step aside for a while & wait, while letting others to check as well. But these people just camped right in front of the printer until their printing came out & happy with it.

Oh well! I have so many readings to complete from GEK1047 & CS3361! I feel so much like an Arts student instead of Computing student. Readings take my life away! AAHH.....

T.H.E.Seniors Orientation Visit Session 1

T.H.E.Seniors orientation visit was meaningful yesterday! =)

I woke up earlier than usual, because I didn't want to be late meeting the new volunteers. Not too nice to leave a bad impression right? Haha... It was kind of confusing as there was this another group of people meeting at the MRT control station as well. Nevertheless, I still managed to fetch all the freshmen on my list. However, HTHT was sick so she didn't join us in the end! Take care, girl!

All the new volunteers were very nice! I thought 3 of them, Vanessa, Clarice & Boon Peng, are friends because they came together & got along well! In fact, they only know one another at the MRT control station trying to find me. They remind me of Peijie, Yuyan & me. Everyone mistook us as very close friends on our first few visits as well. (I miss Yuyan! She has since graduated & work as a nurse, so she wouldn't have time to come T.H.E.Seniors anytime soon. =( ) Anyway! Boon Peng is from Computing too! So cool to know a junior coming to T.H.E.Seniors! =D

We were split into 3 groups - Hokkien, Cantonese & English/Chinese. I was supposed to lead the Hokkien group to Mdm Ho's house. Thank goodness Chen Hua was there. Haha... Everyone asked if he would be there, because he would chat with the elderly most, whereas the rest of us speak in Hokkien in bits & pieces. We helped to clean Mdm Ho's house. She has 2 carpets, which Boon Peng & I brought them out to the stairs to un-dust them. They were super dusty!!! We took a long time trying to fling the carpets against the railing of the stairs & talking about Computing at the same time. Mdm Ho actually cooked Hokkien mee & fried chicken for us! How nice! I didn't eat though because I felt quite full.

After that, we went to visit Mdm Tan. I was very happy because I missed Mdm Tan. It was really very long since I last visited her! Serious. Apparently, her roommate passed away a month or so ago. It was quite sad to hear that you know. Her roommate was much younger than her, and the last time I saw her, she was very healthy, with no illness at all. Although her roommate was anti-social, but she was still polite whenever we visited Mdm Tan. When we sat down, Mdm Tan told us about how her roommate's son was supposed to come collect the rest of her belongings & go HDB report her passing away. She also complained to us about how her roommate used to be very "gor-ta" & pick on little details. However, I can still feel that Mdm Tan felt sad about her roommate. Afterall, they lived together for 5, 6 years.

We had our debrief & introduction session after everyone gathered outside the activity centre. I'm very happy to know that the 5 girls who came are interested to join us for future visits! Some people just join us for orientation visits & disappear after that. I really hope they will stay & not disappear towards the end of the year. I am hopeful! There is a second batch of people coming next week for orentation visit session 2! There would be much more people! However, it is not the number of people that come for orientation visits that matter. It is the people who wish to come back for future visits which is important to me. =D

Another week of school has come to an end.

Everything seems to happen so fast! It seems like I was just so worried & stuff like that not long ago. Wishing the holidays will last longer, wanting to enjoy myself longer. Now we're approaching week 3 already! Oh gosh! I can't imagine how fast things are.. Tutorials are beginning next week.

Currently, I'm sitting here waiting for replies from new volunteers who signed up to go orientation visits at TOUCH tmr & next week. A few of them pang-sehed us, some just have super busy schedule, some are going tmr, most are going next week, and the rest just... haven't reply.. hahaha...

I guess I enjoy playing supporting roles more than leading roles. At least I get to do the things I love without hating them. This is what leading roles sometimes deprives me of. I get a lot of help & support from the rest around me too. What I really hate is, why does passion have to turn into competition at times? I really feel frustrated when that happens.

I was so tired this morning despite waking up at 9.30am. I slept at 4.30am after drafting & sending out the emails. I nearly dreaded going to school, because I knew I had to go for work after school. I was thinking if I should sms Jack that I'm not feeling well, which I did feel a little in the morning to avoid work. Okay, but that's not very nice, because I've been pushing the days I could work for him just because I always happen to feel tired on the day of work. haha... So I decided not to skip work anyway. Guess what? Jack is the one not feeling well instead. In the end, I got my wish! Okay, I should not be gloating over his sickness. Oops!

And yes! I bought an ATAS textbook! It doesn't even look like a textbook! The size, the amount of contents, the cover. At a cost of a blue piece note! I'm going to stick e receipt inside my book because it's unbelievably expensive for such an ATAS book! I guess that's what we pay for an interesting module. Despite that fact, I still love CS3361 the most this semester so far. It's the only core module I don't fall alseep during lecture. hahaha...

I should just start thinking about tomorrow's orientation visit! Margaret will be there of course, but I should help doing my part as well!

First week of school!

It’s the end of the first week of school.

Even though I have a rather slack timetable, I felt quite lethargic and nearly all drained out. I guessed I kept myself too busy over commitment, work, and even play. I think I’ll have an even busier week next week. Argh…

I had CS2105 & CS2106 lectures on Tuesday, the 1st day of school. CS2105 lecture was with WaWa. The lecturer is an Indian, whom I hope I can understand when he speaks for the rest of the semester. I guess the 1st lecture was okay, even though he does have a little Indian accent. CS2106 lecture was alright too, though I do not like accessing the CS2106 website with username & password. So troublesome!

I had an hour break in between these 2 lectures, when WaWa accompanied me to COM1 to print my notes. I took longer than usual because I changed my password in the holidays & it was irritating to set up the printer all over again. Damn!

After that, WaWa had to meet her friend at Arts canteen, and I was supposed to go to Engine canteen to meet a textbook seller. I seldom walked past the area towards the main door of COM1. Guess what? When I walked past, I was like, “EH! JJ!” Haha!!! It was actually a cabinet filled with proud SOCians appearing in news articles. It was this particular Chinese article about the winners of the Youth Award, which 1 of them was a SOCian. It appeared more like the article is featuring JJ though! Haha…

After CS2106 lecture, I went back to Engine canteen once again to have lunch meeting with PC & Margaret. May was there with Pat & Clarissa! Haha… After lunch, the 3 of us walked to the clubroom to take a look at the black board used for last year’s welcome tea. After some discussion, it was decided that Margaret touched up on the black board while I designed the flyer for OutReach. =D

I actually took train from Buona Vista to Jurong East, and changed to the red line until Newton. I wasn’t crazy ok! It was partly that I was too early for work, and I wanted to sleep on the train. Guess what? I ended up working for 2hours only instead of 4hours because there wasn’t enough numbers for me to call afterall. Haha… I was quite glad because I was really tired & wanted to go home.

Wednesday was my free day! And so, we had an early birthday celebration for Da Bai at A.R.K. House. It was supposed to be a surprise, but Mr Koh spoiled it! Hmph! Spoiler! Haha…

I travelled down to A.R.K House together with Siew Yong after her work. I had wanted to go down earlier to buy Da Bai’s present, but a discomfort developed in my right eye, which didn’t allow me to do so afterall. Da Bai was already there when we reached, so Siew Yong & I sneaked up to SMG store to get her present without her noticing we came. We spent some time gossiping before going downstairs to join Da Bai. When we went down, Mr Koh & Yueming were already there. That was when Mr Koh told us he spoiled the fun! Boo!

Anyway, Carol came shortly after that. It had been months since we had sat down like that to talk. It was super hilarious to see Carol & Mr Koh “squabbling” with each other! Haha… We all know that Carol is famous for being lost. So we were laughing & joking super hard on a lame conversation. It was really damn funny! Carol didn’t feel offended even though we were poking fun of her. Don’t we just have so lovely company? Haha… I shall upload the photos we taken that day when I have the time & energy. =D

On Thursday, I had my 1 & only lecture of the day, GEK1047! The lesson was really interesting & fun afterall! Even though I was cursing & swearing at the 1st reading. Haha… I thought I must be regretting taking a business GEM that sounds so much like an Arts GEM instead. Even the lecturer introduced herself as a graduate from NUS Arts faculty studying philosophy & literature! No wonder! I had so much difficulty reading the 1st reading with so many profound words! Luckily, the lecturer said it was a test for those who think this GEM is easy & non-examinable. She promised the future readings would not be that profound. Haha… I think most people in the class came to this GEM more for the interactive nature of this class, which is what I love too. The lecturer is damn cool too! I can say that this class is very different from normal SOC tutorials. I feel that SOC tutorials are so dead, which interactions are usually 1-to-1, with only a few students bothering to answer the tutors.

After GEK1047, it was UP 3D movie with WaWa, Xinyi, and Jiawei! I was the earliest, so I went to have lunch alone & bought the movie tickets for the rest. Just before the movie, WaWa came & we went in & left Xinyi’s & Jiawei’s tickets at the usher’s booth.

The 3D movie was a great experience! I love the storyline! It was sweet & touching, with a dab of humour in some parts of the movie. Thumbs-up for UP! =D

After the movie, I bought a bag at $5 in IP Zone! Haha.. It’s super worth the money! Then, we went to Superdog for their lunch, where Fronia came to join us shortly. Acacia female freshies in full force! It had been super long since the 5 of us got together! Hehe…

I was slightly late for CS2261 lecture on Friday. What a conincidence! When Christine & I went into the LT to find Joanna & Co, there were only 2 seats left between Joanna & another person in the row. That person happened to be Yanzhu! Haha…

Last lecture of the week was CS3361. My 1st level 3 module! Anyway, everyone got a shock when they entered SR1. This previously non-examinable module is actually modified to become a 60% examinable module! It was supposed to be relected in CORS, but somehow, it didn’t. I didn’t really mind, as I was expecting it to be an examinable module when I first wanted to take it. Seeing it appear as a non-examinable module was just a bonus for me. However, it is going to cause a lot of trouble to many of us, as exam dates are reflected before bidding of modules so we can plan our timetable accordingly so our exam dates will not clash.

Aiya, I don’t really care. Service Science is really an interesting module! I think I’ll not regret going into SSME specialization! Even the lecturer is damn cool! He’s a part-time lecturer, but some full-time bigshot in IBM! At first, he looked quite hostile, but it turned out that he is very friendly! =D

Okay! That marks the end of my first week of school! I dread the upcoming week! That is why I’m getting as much rest as possible today! AAHH!

TOUCH visit

Totally dragged myself out of bed after sleeping at 4am. Argh... So sleepy! *yawns*

I met Jerome & Shi Tien at Kallang MRT to go TOUCH visit together. We were waiting for the bus when Bo Jie came. There were only 10 to 11 of us today only.. My group had Pin Chuan, Jerome, Shi Tien & me. Margaret came to join us at a later time.

We visited Mdm Chua first. There wasn't cleaning for us to do as there were some volunteers who came the day before. It was quite sad to hear that her husband, Mr Hui, passed away about a month ago. To think that I've seriously missed a lot of visits! =( However, Mdm Chua was quite cheerful. She was kind of funny because she kept repeating what she said. She kept asking us to drink her packet drinks repeatedly la! Haha... She loves to drink sweet drinks herself too Jerome told her that it is not good to drink them when she has 风湿. But Mdm Chua just said, yah, drink first then say la.. She's quite funny at times.

After talking to Mdm Chua for some time, we wanted to proceed to visit Mdm Cheong. Then Mdm Chua said she knows Mdm Cheong, so she went downstairs with us to check if it was the same Mdm Cheong we were talking about. The both of them were so funny when we were at Mdm Cheong's house! They switched between Canto, Hokkien & Chinese, and topics so fast that we were sometimes lost in their conversation. Haha!!!

Pin Chuan officially stepped down after today's visit! AAHH! T.T It means it's Margaret's & my responsibilities from now on. Boo... We'll be meeting him this coming Tuesday. Then, there is CSC OutReach from 18 -20 August. After that, it'll be 2 consecutive weeks of orientation visits for the coming semester. Woohoo! I think I'll be so busy! Haiz... I want to pass this busy period real quick for once!

K Lunch with Love, Little Ivalyn, Joey Ho!

K Lunch with Love, Little Ivalyn, Joey Ho!

I woke up earlier than usual can! Just to make it to AMK to sing K with the 3 siao 16 years old girls. Hahaha!! I wasn't the latest ok!

We spammed lots of JJ songs to sing! Wahaha... Celeste kept saying she's shy la! Bluff people de la! She MAO-ed so loud in the mike! And Little Ivalyn kept saying songs are too low for her to sing! LOL!

Celeste kept saying I was so serious when I sang Rynn's songs, but I will be like anyhow when it comes to JJ's songs. I swear I didn't! 冤枉啊! Maybe it was just that I didn't sing Rynn's songs for so long despite the many k sessions I went during this entire holiday. Wahaha...

I wore my purple "The Subcrew" cap that I received from JJFC peeps for my birthday! And we camwhored with it! Wahaha... Hmph! Little Ivalyn flinged it to the floor unknowingly while singing so high on the sofa la! Boo! Haha..

After the k session, we went Popular because I wanted to buy stationery for school. I was deciding to buy different coloured files like what I did last semester, or buy 1 stack of 10 files of the same colours which is cheaper. In the end, I chose the cheaper alternative - 10 purple files! Woohoo! I also bought a set of purple stapler, small scissors, and scotch-tape! Wahaha! Of course, I bought foolscap and correction tape refill la.. Hahaha...

After that, Little Ivalyn went out with her friends, and the rest of us went home. I felt so sleepy! I've never feel so good sleeping on bus 22! Hahaha... And I slept like a pig when I reached home too! Hahaha!!!

I seriously think my ideal timetable is so slack! =D

Okay, please don't think IT IS very slack! Everyone says CS2105, CS2106 & CS2261 are heavy modules. That's also 1 reason I do not want to risk overloading with 6 modules. I expect myself to spend a lot of time studying/tutoring/labbing outside school hours.

Can you believe it? The winning bid for GEK1047: Organisational Power & Culture is 900 points! It is somewhat crazy if you think it is a slacking module. Although it's a business module, you should see the amount of readings/workload we're going to have each week! Despite this fact, I think I'll like the module, because it is graded according to Continual Assessment & the readings seem to sound interesting. =D I do hope I can do well though. Participation is a whopping 30%! It means I have to raise my hand & talk nonsense even if I don't feel like it!

Year 2 Semester 1(or Semester 2 to me), here I come! =D

I've got my wish. I've always want it to be this way. I'm so afraid that this isn't what I want anymore. 2 months is not very long. However, it seems to change a lot of things & perceptions already.

Time to update!

I realized I tend to forget what I've been doing in the past days recently! My blog is quite dead too. Actually, I'm just pure lazy. I totally get myself addicted on Happy Farm & Barn Buddy on FB. Haha...

28/07/09 (Tue)
I was almost late for my duty at the Matric Fair, so I was zooming my way through the huge maze in MPSH. I didn't even know there were CCA booths last year when I matriculated! I guessed it was because my time slot was in the late evening, so I was rushing through everything. Anyway, I went in by the exit! I didn't know we had to exchange for passes there as well. Oh well.. Guess how much I zoomed? CSC booth was near the entrance la... Hahaha!!!

My duty ended at 3pm. I wanted to help out until 5pm because I was waiting for the rest to go to e6 庆功宴. However, I heard that NUSSU restricted the number of people helping at each CCA booth, so I went somewhere to slack until they were off duty.

Anyway, we were rushing here & there to sign card for the top 3 before proceeding to Fish & CO at the Glass House. We were a rowdy crowd occupying many, many tables! Haha... I love the "Gears of Ethelonter"! =D

29/07/09(Wed)

Dating with Ee Leng! Every year, she would find time to go out with me near my birthday! I feel so guilty not doing the same for her because her birthday is always near exams! T.T

Ee Leng is so sweet okay! She couldn't attend my birthday party. However, she gave me a surprise by dropping by my house late at night with Jane & Nigel just to pass me my present! I love her! BFF! =D

Anyway, we were deciding where to go 1 hour before she stepped out of her house. Singapore is kind of boring. Even though there are new shopping centres coming out, but they are somewhat similar in some ways. Going the high-end side, yet the high-end shops are about the same, and they have so many japanese restaurants, it's just really boring after some time. Therefore, we decided to settle at Tampines 1. It was the 2nd time I was visiting Tampines 1 that week though.

01/08/09(Sat)

Charis Outing! We went to watch NDP preview fireworks! Okay, they were watching, not me. I'm not really fascinated by fireworks. I have no idea why. We walked a long way before we found a good view near the Merlion Park and ate our takeaways there. I told myself I must be excited about fireworks in order not to spoil the mood for the rest. However, I happened to be on the phone, so I really missed out the fireworks. Oh well.. Fated.. Haha...

After the fireworks, we went to Starbucks and slack. We had some weird HTHT & chat. We ended off by telling & listening to ghost stories.

I finally have time for Charis outing ok! Do not say I'm heartless again! =P

02/08/09(Sun)
It was a rather important day! Ivalyn & I was partly looking forward & partly dreading for this day to come. I guessed things work out afterall. Things turn out pretty well, most of them going the way I want them to be. Some things are solved, some may not. However, it doesn't matter for those unsolved mysteries. I guess they'll be gone with the wind after today's talk. What matters most is, I got my wish come true fully as everything has finally settled down. Thanks Ivayln & Siew Yong for making everything happen. =D

An ending means a new beginning too. It means my responsibilities resume as well. I hope the past feeling & passion will come back as things proceed. My greatest fear is I'll never get them back now that I have new commitments. The feeling is quite different from before where I'm fully committed. I guess my priorities change as I accepted the position as TOUCH vice. For now, TOUCH has to be my priority. However, I hope I can balance both commitments with the same share of responsibilities. I know it's going to be hard. I'll try my best.

Acacia K Session after the talk! I knew I would be late since they were meeting at 2pm. Who knows! I saw Jia Jin & De Quan when I entered the building! Chey! I was considered early ok! Haha...

Frog was supposed to come for dinner, but she pang seh-ed me last minute! I wanted to go Johnson's birthday celebration with Xinyi if I knew she was not coming! Hmph! I'll still forgive you though! Hahaha!!! Le Jun had to leave early too, so she wasn't there for dinner!

We went Aston's for dinner. The male freshies had full attendance! I was representing the female freshies! HAHAHA!

I really missed going out with Acacians la! It's a totally different feeling from going out with Charis. I guess it is the different roles that I play in each group. I think I feel like a kid when I go out with Acacians, but it was totally opposite when I go out with Charis. Not that I do not love Charis, but I prefer Acacia more because I like being a kid! =D
